Jorge Pardo gave a workshop for his flexiball at the CDO Convention 2009. I actually didn't join it, but it motivated me to fold one. I had this strange idea that I shoulf fold a small version, and started with squares that had a side length of 3.75cm. When Jorge saw this, he told me it was too small, and that you would not be able to flex it without it coming apart. And of course that just motivated me more - plus, I'd already done about quarter of it, so I didn't just want to stop.
In the end it did work out, but it was a bit of a pain to assemble. The finished model is stable enough, although I probably wouldn't give it to a child to play with.
