Asking for Permission - the Why and How

Hey Sara, love the site! Anyway, just wanted to say what a wonderful article. I have to agree asking for permission to make a tutorial is the absolute thing to do. I've made one tutorial so far, Robert Lang model, found his email and sent a permission request. You have inspired me to make origami, although I will never be as good as you are, I will continue on enjoying the folding experience. Thanks again for your videos and insightful news.

Oh, if you look at it realistically, I'm not that good. ;)
I've practiced a lot, and push myself to improve with every video, but I believe others can achieve that, too - if they want to. Most importantly, though, we should all continue enjoying origami and the community that lives around it. :)

That's such a great a article, Sara. You have explained it without getting into the polemic issue of copyright: I've already seen so many topics on origami forums about copyright that end up in lame flame wars, with folders and designers calling each other names, that's just sad. Your sane article made me get the point clearly and for good.

I did try to write something that made sense without raising a big discussion about the legal situation, and it seems I got it about right. I'm happy to hear that.

Really Great Article! It deals with ethic, but not with "absolute" legacy. I was encouraged. Great work!
