Clown Fish and Sea Anemone (J.C. Nolan)

Snapshot from the diagrams I think I somewhat violated this model, but I still wanted to post a picture of it. Lots of the tips of the sea anemone have small rips, and the front stripe of the clown fish doesn't stay folded up. Ah well, it was a first fold, and I didn't use the best of papers. Enough excuses for messing up? I've attached a picture of what the model is supposed to look like, just so you get an idea. It's a snapshot from the diagrams. Check Joseph Wu's website for what the model looks like when JC himself folds it. Ah, I wish mine looked like that...

I can't believe you stayed all night long!

( I am shure you slept, but I still prefer being dramatic!)

This can be easily classified as the most tidious or your models, huh?

Speaking of which, why not add a monthly poll for best model? Hardest (looking) model?
coolest model? and of course...!

I did sleep, I'd guess about 7 hours or so. Just to clarify.
JC did ask me how long it took me to complete the model, but I'm not sure. It will have to be several hours - maybe six or so. But then again, a first fold always takes longer than later ones. Figuring out what to do next takes its time – even when the diagrams are as clear as they are for this model.

As to polls, I've thought about it a couple of times. But I'm not sure whether I have enough visitors (analytics says about 250 a day), and whether some of those visitors might try to manipulate polls. That might be of interest if I had a poll on which model I should make a video on next.
Still thinking about it...

I was aware of these diagrams before, but have never folded the hedgehog. I'd have to ask Eric for his permission to do a video, but think he'd probably give me an ok. He did post diagrams on his page, so that's a good indicator.
Unfortunately, I don't have enough time to make all the videos I'd like to make, or even the time to try all the models I'd like to try out. So I fear that I have no immediate plans to do a video on the hedgehog. Hope you understand.

I admire your courage not only to try this model but to share it with everyone. Thank you.

About 7-8 years ago when I lived in NYC I bought a book at the Museum of Modern Art titled "Origamido" by Michael LaFosse (now out of print, alas), which has a color photo of Nolan's own folding of this model. The whole book is full of jaw-dropping origami art by dozens of the greatest artists, but this one stands out. The book may still be available used, or in libraries.
