Where are the diagrams??
Submitted by Sara on 21 September 2009 - 10:40pm Permalink
Out of print
I fear they're out of print. If you're a member of the British Origami Society, they have copies in their library that include the diagrams. Here's all the sources where the diagrams should be published:
BOS Convention 1982 Autumn
BOS Magazine 102 October 1983
Origami per Pinocchio by Roberto Morassi
But there is hope still. I have permission from Fujimoto-san to make a video of this model, and I plan to do so some time in the future. It's not all that hard to fold, so maybe within the next 6 months?
Hope this helps a bit,

6 MONTHS?!?!?!?!?!?!
Is that mostly filming or editing, or what?
Submitted by Sara on 22 September 2009 - 8:22am Permalink
Why 6 months?
I try to make a video on one model a month. So I was just saying I'll try to make it one of the six next models. It usually takes me one or two days to make a video from start to finish.

Video coming
I plan to make a video on this, especially because diagrams are *very* hard to come by for this. I've got permission, so all I need is ... find some time to make that video. It'll probably happen in the next 4 months or so.

?
did he use the clover folding base or hydrangea base? (or crowing butterflies?) or something new?

Quite different
It's not really a tessellation, and definitely different than all the three models you mentioned. For one, those are on a square grid, while this apple uses a triangle grid. And there is no collapse step that's even remotely like the ones for the (true) tessellations you mentioned. While the apple has some tessellation aspects to it, I'm somewhat reluctant to call it a tessellation (although Shuzo Fujimoto seems to have titled it a tessellation apple).

Variation??
Is this a variation of the apple you did a video on ?It seems to me they are a bit different to the bottom this one looks closed .
Submitted by Sara on 7 April 2010 - 9:54pm Permalink
Slight variation
You can make a closed bottom by adding some extra creases. In essence, just do exactly the same as for the top. It's a bit trickier, though, and I'm not sure I really like that result much better.

thanks
Sorry for bothering again but how do you get and ths leaf?do you need to fold it in half or what? thanks for the reply though!!
Submitted by Sara on 8 April 2010 - 7:07am Permalink
Leaf variation
I folded the leaf in half (maybe twice) to make the leaf look more like a stalk. Again, just a slight variation, and I think I prefer the "leaf" version as seen in http://www.happyfold...
