Flower with Leaves (Peter Budai)

Today I decided to try making tissue foil. Some spray glue, foil, and red and green tissue later I finished my first attempt. Not perfect, but good enough to check what it was like to fold a model out of it. So I searched for a simple duo-colour flower, and this is the result.

Paper: 27cm square of tissue foil
Finished model: 13.5cm x 13.5cm
flower: 8.5cm diameter
leaves: 6.5cm length, 4.5cm width

The video seemed hard to follow due to the lack of oral instructions, but after a while I understood everything! I just hope that the paper isn't too fragile...

This may be a stupid question, but I'm fairly new to origami so bear that in mind. When I did Peter Budai's diagram, the flower and the leaves are the same color (or the leaves are white). How did you get the red flower and the green leaves?

Thanks!

If you start with paper that has different colours on each side, then you'll get a different colour for the leaves and the flower itself. I glued a sheet of red tissue and a sheet of green tissue back to back to get this result.

Of course! That makes sense! I love the flower you did. It's beautiful! Thanks for your help!
